The piebald black pastel python is an important stepping stone in the quest to make super black pastel piebalds (aka Panda Pieds). As of November 2011 only a small handful of black pastel piebalds have been produced and every one we have seen has been extremely high white like the one’s we produced in 2011 (pictured below). It appears that, similar to the spider gene, the combination of the piebald gene with the black pastel gene produces an animal with a small amount of pattern on its head and very little (if any) pattern on its tail. The rest of the snake is solid white.
