Some folks might not do it if they needed to smuggle their reptiles into their rental home. Ignorance and intolerance of "no pet" policies could prevent people from being able to flaunt their hobby. But I think it still represent a big part of the community. I am probably at the other end of the stereotypes you can think as an engineer. I remember when I went to the airport to pickup some snakes. The woman wanted to know more, and she said that because I didn't look like those stereotypes, she wanted to know what I liked about them and as I did, she wasn't afraid.
