Taking Action – www.nosnakeban.com
Stop S373 and HR2811
http://www.nosnakeban.com
The National Pet Association, an organization that seeks to protect the rights of responsible pet owners in the United States, is helping reptile owners in the fight against irresponsible legislation efforts underway in Washington DC.
Please join me by supporting the call to action outlined at www.nosnakeban.com. Please also take the final step which is to encourage all of your friends and family to support the rights of pet owners. It doesn’t matter if you don’t own a snake. This is about more than snakes. This is about pet ownership and the right to responsibly own the pet of your choosing.

ok its about time i put my two cents in i have been hearing more and more about the congresses ideas on passing this no python ban and i am one of the many many people who are up and coming breeders/collectors and i personally am insulted by the idea.this ban is ridiculous, just becuz a couple people who did not take proper precaution/care and did not know about what they were getting into let thier snakes go and the fish and game couldn’t do their jobs and stop it early on like they were payed to do a multi-billion dollar business might cease to exist and the us will have even more unemployed pissed off Americans!!!! like they don’t have enough of those right now come on we are just people trying to make a living doing something that we enjoy and becuz some pencil pusher behind a desk who hates his job has to pick a fight becuz he/she has a misguided understandable but still ignorant fear of pythons and other serpents. I for one am absolutely positively am against this ban. This is my future we are talking about my up and coming business and source of income for my family in these hard times that we are in now.thank you for listening and letting me have a say sincerely from one herp lover to another
I’ve only recently heard of NatPet. What exactly have they done to fight S373/HR2811? I see that they have a web page set up to guide activism ( http://www.nosnakeban.com ) …but what else?
Hi Rebecca,
The National Pet Association (NatPet) is not an old organization which is why all of us have only recently heard of it. Their overall mission is to protect the rights of all responsible pet owners all around the United States. One of the most pressing issues they are addressing is HR2811/S373. A key way NatPet is working to defeat this legislation is through education and dialogue at the source: Congress. NatPet’s president hast spent a lot of time in the offices of Senators and House delegates during the past few months making sure the issue is understood beyond just being the “snake ban”. The results have been impressive. Despite having been an issue on Capitol Hill for quite a bit of time NatPet has discoverd that misinformation and misunderstanding of the issue is common. The pace with which NatPet is developing positive relationships in Congress leaves me confident that they will provide an enduring and powerful voice that protects my rights as a pet owner, even after HR2811 an S373 are gone.
For more specific information I recommend you contact NatPet directly with your question. I am confident that Adam Wysocki, NatPet’s founder, will be glad to talk with you about the organization’s vision and how NatPet is helping in the fight to stop this legislation.
In addition to NatPet there are several other fronts in the fight against HR2811 and S373. Both USARK, the United States Association of Reptile Keepers, and PIJAC, the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council are active in the fight. In addition to supporting NatPet please consider providing your support to them as well.
Best regards,
Colin
